Hello fine people.
It isn’t every day that an honor like this one is bestowed on me… and, I have to say that it’s really taken my breath away. On Tuesday when Will Li from NY contacted me about how I was #2 in some contest and how he thought I deserved to be number one… I went, looked, and thought, “hmm… That’s really neat that I’m even ON this ballot. Win or lose…” Then over the next few days, I found myself (like many do their first days in Zeek) excitedly (and with anticipation like a kid on Christmas morning) clicking that link an awful lot throughout the day… to see what was going on. I realized then that how my peers felt about me… mattered more then I ever knew. It was an opportunity for self-realization.
In my 44 years of kickin’ around on this planet… 25 of them dreaming the dream in Network Marketing – this one never even rippled across my brainwaves.
Why? Well… I’m pretty sure it isn’t a worthiness thing… or a lack of self-worth… I’m pretty clear about where my strengths and weaknesses lie. I never saw this coming and in all of my years of leadership in the field… I’ve just been way too busy working to look up and see if anyone else was noticing! I didn’t even know a contest like this one even existed til Tuesday!
Recognition is an amazing gift. One that I am committed to giving others. It’s not something I have ever focused on when it came to self… but receiving it from all of you has made this an incredible role in this epic and historic project so much more worthwhile that I have no way to express it adequately or fully.
Just please know this.. you honoring me the way that you have has touched my soul and imprinted strength and confidence permanently on another human being. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for even THINKING of me this way and proudly and excitedly wear the “Top Field Leader in the World 2012″
